Histories for USS Kitty Hawk - CV 63

We don't brake for no Russian subs
Sometime in 1985, somewhere in the Pacific; a Russian sub had been shadowing us for almost 2-weeks. We could hear her radar bouncing off our hull, when below-decks. Our Captain decided to shake her. While coming up onto an onrep (we just had one a couple days before?), we switched places with the supply ship, while shutting off two of our screws - one with a distinctive whine, from a gouge. We were then on the opposite side of the supply ship. The sub got confused and tried surfacing; right in our path. We rolled her. It felt like a big wave, without sound, on the O-3 level, about midship. I thought, "Wow, what a big wave. Only one wave?" A few minutes later, the Captain came on the 1-MC and asked if any of us witnessed the event. It was supposed to be "top secret" and nobody was to let anyone else know. A week later we pulled into P.I. There were about a dozen variations on the T-shirts out on MagSaiSai Drive: Kitty Hawk-1, Russian Sub-0, We Don't Brake For No Russian Subs, etc... Does anyone else remember this? I also put on a whole bunch of recreational activities while onboard, while working in Special Services. There were 10 K's, a boxing smoker, a wrestling tournament, skeet shoots off the sponson, cirucit training in the gym. Does anyone remember this stuff?
